Android 4.4 KitKat Update: Latest Image Leak Reveals Key Lime Pie Symbol And Added Features
Amidst the rumors and leaks that are surrounding the Nexus 5 handset from Google, there's also been a lot of buzz about Android 4.4 Kitkat in the tech community. The new version is speculated to ship with the Nexus 5 which might get unveiled this on th 14th of this month.
Previously known as Key Lime Pie, the version of the software has apparently got a clean photo shoot session with tech blog, GadgetHelpline. The site has already published around two dozens of images of the new update which shows most of the new features. On the other hand, instead of the KitKat logo the GadgetHelpline found Key Lime Pie mentions in the OS details. One can check the version of Android by continuously tapping the Android version in the About section of Settings.
New features that are likely to be seen in Android 4.4
Looking at the images, one can see several new features like the integrated option for printing and an option for managing payments via wireless NFC payments (current devices uses third party app). Moreover, chances are that we might also see wireless display support via Miracast and on-screen tools to manage your mobile plan.
Android 4.4 also retains the option to manage the background application to prevent usage of additional data when connected to a personal hotspots. Moreover, the blog also mentions that they noticed smoother animations. Further, the blue colored icons in the notification dropdown that we normally see in other Android devices may no longer exist as this updated version of Android uses White icons.
Apart from this, one can see a great improvement when it comes to the gallery as well. Android KitKat users might see an option to save images locally in PDF format, export images in a variety of sizes and quality, and apply new native filters and effects. Not to forget, an integrated printing option that comes with the package.
Google has also refreshed the color of the system apps including the Dialler which now comes in a blue color and there is an addition of a large blue bar at the bottom for calling, viewing call history and a menu.
